MEET THE TEAM
WHO WE ARE. WHAT WE DO. WHY WE DO IT.
SSGT DONALD IBARRA
SSGT Donald Ibarra Marine Corps Veteran is the creator of Vets On Horses. He created the program based off of his own experience with horses and the struggles he dealt with as a veteran. He was moved to bring this amazing energy and healing power to other veterans as well as first responders. He has been an advocate for the veterans in his family as well as our local veterans. He has worked with our local VA to bring numerous donations for our military families.
Stacie and Donald are partners in creating Vets On Horses. She brings several years of equestrian experience, branding, graphic design and marketing. Stacie also has been involved in Will County Child Advocacy Coalition, United Way Grant Board, Anti-Bullying and Self Defense Awareness. After having many veterans in her family including Donald she has seen first hand how crippling PTSD can be to a veteran and their family.
Karen comes to us with over 35 years of equestrian experience and a wealth of horse knowledge. She was an Animal Control Officer for 25 years throughout Illinois. She had also spent time advocating and pre-screening animals for service/handicap availability. Karen has a desire to help others and animals and a true love to do it. She has competed in Barrel Racing at very high levels and has way to many buckles to count and is still competing today.
SHEILA GRIMMETT, MSW
Sheila Grimmett, MSW is our licensed social worker and comes to us with an extreme passion for helping anyone in need. She has been an advocate for law enforcement as well as a youth mentor and is actively involved in our local church community as a youth advocate and volunteer. She also played years of competitive soccer and brings that same energy and team work to Vets On Horses.
